In the window of his workshop, the eccentric toy-maker Dr. Coppelius displays his newest creation, the mechanical doll “Coppélia”. “Coppélia” is so life-like that she is mistaken for a beautiful girl and causes quite the stir in the village. This mysterious beauty comes between the lovers Swanhilda and Franz, who both set out to discover her secret.
