Celebrate Canada Day in the heart of Sidney at one of the Saanich Peninsula’s most cherished annual traditions. The Sidney Canada Day Parade returns to Beacon Avenue, bringing together residents, visitors, community organizations, businesses, performers, and volunteers for a vibrant celebration of community spirit and Canadian pride.
Presented by the Peninsula Celebrations Society as part of the Sidney Days Canada Day celebrations, the parade has been a longstanding highlight of Canada Day festivities in Sidney. Each year, thousands of spectators line Beacon Avenue to enjoy a colourful procession featuring decorated floats, marching groups, community organizations, local businesses, classic vehicles, performers, cultural groups, musicians, and special guests.
The 2026 parade theme, “Love, Honour, Respect,” celebrates the values that help build strong communities and meaningful connections. Participants are encouraged to interpret the theme creatively through their entries, showcasing the diversity, generosity, and community spirit that make Sidney and the Saanich Peninsula such a special place to live, work, and visit.
Families are encouraged to arrive early to secure a viewing spot along the parade route and enjoy the festive atmosphere as downtown Sidney comes alive with music, colour, and excitement. The parade offers something for everyone, from imaginative floats and spirited performances to community groups sharing the causes and organizations that help shape the region.
Following the parade, the celebration continues throughout the day with family activities, entertainment, food vendors, community events.
