SUMMARY:Backpack Project
DESCRIPTION:The Backpack Project is an annual local initiative in its 14th year of operation. It provides backpacks full of necessities and comfort items on Christmas day to community members throughout the Greater Victoria region who are experiencing homelessness. The backpacks are delivered to local women’s and community shelters\, and are also handed out personally to people in the community that call the streets their home.

The Public will vote for thier favourite creation\, and the winners will receive a prize! All proceeds support CFAX Santa’s Anonymous.

DESCRIPTION:Sidney Lions Christmas Toy Drive \n This Christmas the Sidney Lions Club will be doing the Christmas Toy Drive on the Saanich Peninsula. We are putting our efforts into supporting local Peninsula families who have registered with the Saanich Peninsula Lions Food Bank to not only receive food hampers but gifts as well for children 0-18 years of age.\nWe are calling on our community and businesses to help us help others. This year has seen an increase in the number of Peninsula families needing our assistance\, but we cannot give them help without your donations.\nWays you can give:\n• Drop off new toys\, cash\, or cheque at our temporary office – Unit 101b\, 2506 Beacon Ave\, Sidney\n• E-transfer donations to: sidneylionsbc@gmail.com\nSidney Lions President\, Bill Deslauriers\, emphasizes that “it is with immense regret that we cannot give out tax receipts for donations as we are only a registered society without a charitable donation number\, but we are hoping that you will still be willing to donate for this worthy cause”.\nOur office will be open to accept donations from December 1 to 15\, Tuesday to Friday\, 12-3 p.m. and Saturday\, 12-5 p.m. Stop by 2506 Beacon Ave\, Unit 101b (Landmark Building) in Sidney\, say hi\, grab a hot drink\, and enjoy a cookie.
