DESCRIPTION:Directed by Geral Schieven and featuring a talented cast of many ages\, this entertaining presentation weaves the classic story of Scrooge with an assortment of beautiful  seasonal carols. \nEbenezer Scrooge is a prosperous curmudgeon who believes that personal wealth is far more valuable than the happiness and comfort of others. With an infuriated “Bah! Humbug!” Scrooge summates his feelings of Christmas tidings and charitable giving\, but he’s forced to face his selfish ways when three ghosts on Christmas Eve lead him through his Past\, Present and Future. \nThe performances are approximately 2 hours long\, with a 15-minute intermission\, and will be at the Berwick Royal Oak. Parking is available at Our Lady Fatima Church. \nDecember 8: 7:00 pm\nDecember 9 and 10: 2:00 pm \nGeneral Admission: $25\nSeniors and youth (under 12): $22

Victorian era costumes welcome! \nCrafting Communities is an award-winning resource hub for makers and educators interested in nineteenth-century material culture. Their website includes how-to crafting tutorials for home and classroom use\, an online exhibit of 26 nineteenth-century objects (from a broken Brontë hair bracelet to a policeman’s hat)\, and 24 podcast episodes about nineteenth-century things (featuring interviews with artists\, curators\, scholars\, and librarians about books\, beadwork\, optical toys\, and more!). \nPainting is Christmas Story-telling – Sir John Everett Millais (1862)

DESCRIPTION:A Seasonal celebration of a cappella\, four-part harmony\, featuring the South Island’s leading exponents of the art\, South Island Harmony male chorus and the area’s popular quartet\, Trounce Alley. Audiences will be treated to that full-body tingle that derives from the blend of soaring voices\, ringing chords\, and thrilling close harmony.\nSouth Island Harmony’s first full Christmas Show in three years\, the programme will feature brand new repertoire and some old favourites covering Seasonal songs and popular music genres from many decades. This is also the first full-repertoire show under the leadership of our outstanding new Director\, Dr. Kinza Tyrrell. Kinza is a classically trained Music PhD with a phenomenal résumé of accomplishment.\nThe mighty Trounce Alley Quartet entertains audiences all over the South Island with a diverse repertoire\, singing everything from old Barbershop classics to modern movie theme songs.\nWe welcome guest artists Lady & the Tramps\, a mixed quartet from Nanaimo\, and UVic Brass\, a wind instrument ensemble comprising UVic music students.\nSouth Island Harmony takes pride in serving\, and making a positive contribution to\, our community. One of our missions is to form strong partnerships with school choral groups\, music educators\, and their organizations.
