DESCRIPTION:Musuem hours: 10:00 am – 4:00 pm daily \nWhat happens when personal freedoms come into conflict with national security? \n\n\n\n\nExploring the suspension of civil liberties in Canada during the First World War\, the Second World War\, and the 1970 October Crisis\, Lost Liberties — The War Measures Act sheds new light on the enduring impact of the Act on Canada and its people. \nThis Canadian Museum of History exhibition examines the internment of Canadians of Ukrainian origin and other nationalities during the First World War\, the internment of Italian Canadians and the internment and forced relocation of Japanese Canadians during the Second World War\, and the arrest of hundreds of people in Quebec during the 1970 October Crisis. \nLost Liberties probes the crises that drove these tragic events\, and features poignant first-hand accounts from the men\, women and children who lived through them.

DESCRIPTION:On November 11\, the traditional Remembrance Day Parade will proceed at 10:30 am from the Mary Winspear Centre\, along Beacon Avenue and Second Street\, to the Cenotaph on Sidney Avenue. The Service of Remembrance for the Fallen will commence at 10:50 am. A Fly Past is planned during the two-minute silence at 11:00 am. \nVeterans that wish to participate in the parade should muster at the Mary Winspear Centre at 10:00 am on November 11\, or join the Parade at the Cenotaph. \nThe ceremony will be live-streamed at www.radiosidney.ca starting at 10:30 am. \nPlease note\, temporary street closures will occur on Beacon and Second between 10:15 am and 10:45 am\, and on Sidney\, Third\, Fourth\, and Mount Baker between 10 am and 12 pm.
