DESCRIPTION:LEGO® enthusiasts have been visiting the Sidney Museum for twenty years to connect over their shared passion for this remarkable product. To celebrate this 20th anniversary milestone\, the Sidney Museum is taking a walk through time. This year’s displays are presented to reflect the themes of our LEGO® Brick Exhibit since its inception. Displays will highlight different exhibit years\, showcase beloved sets\, and tell the story of how a small community event became an annual tradition enjoyed by thousands of visitors from the Saanich Peninsula and beyond. \nAs always\, the Sidney Museum has a number of new sets on display. These sets will be accompanied by old favourites\, from Star Wars to Batman to floral\, architectural\, and vehicle sets. DESCRIPTION:Kaleidoscope Theatre for Young People is proud to present: Axis Theatre’s Touring Production of “Where Have All The Buffalo Gone?” By Tai Amy Grauman. \nWhere Have All The Buffalo Gone? is a powerful story inspired by Historical Events of the Metis People of Canada and is coming to Sidney for ONLY SIX performances! \nThis show is running January 29 – February 1\, 2026 at the Charlie White Theatre in the Mary Winspear Centre. \nShow Times:\nThursday\, January 29 – 10am and 12:30pm\nFriday\, January 30 – 7pm\nSaturday\, January 31 – 2pm\nFriday\, February 1 – 11am and 2pm \nAbout the Show:\nTwo star people and a Buffalo\, fall to earth and continue to reconnect throughout history. Where Have All The Buffalo Gone? explores seven different periods of Métis history\, beginning during creation amongst the stars and ending in the present day\, sharing stories from the Callihoo family\, and incorporating fiddle music\, jigging and a life-size buffalo puppet. Inspired by historical events of the Métis people of Canada. This original play for young audiences explores the loves\, the losses\, and the fight of Métis people of the Treaty 6 area – and their love and kinship to the buffalo. \nAge Recommendation: 10+\nRunning Time: 50 Minutes with No Intermission

SUMMARY:Family Literacy Celebration with Lucky Budd
DESCRIPTION:You’re invited to CELEBRATE literacy\, learning and having fun together. There will be coffee for the adults and breakfast snacks for the kids (thanks to Saanich Peninsula Literacy). There will be books for kids to take home and keep (thanks to the Peninsula 1000 x 5 Book Recycling Society) and some fabulous door prizes. Our very special guest author Lucky Budd and Librarian Virginia entertain from 10:45 – 11:30 am. This event is especially for kids but anyone who enjoys stories\, making music together and spreading positivity is WELCOME. Free. No registration required. We hope you can join us! \nMore about Lucky Budd: \nRob “Lucky” Budd graduated from the University of Victoria in 2005\, earning a Master’s Degree in History with a focus on oral history.  Between 2000 and 2004 the CBC and the Royal British Columbia Museum entrusted Rob with the preservation and restoration of the “Orchard Collection”\, one of the world’s largest oral history collections.
