SUMMARY:An Evening with Josh Ritter Performance
DESCRIPTION:For more than two decades\, Josh Ritter\, has been heralded as one of the most preeminent voices in American songwriting – a masterful storyteller whose work blurs the boundaries between folk\, rock\, and Americana. Since the release of his self-titled debut in 1999\, Ritter has issued over a dozen widely acclaimed albums. Including: The Animal Years\, So Runs the World Away\, Fever Breaks (produced by Jason Isbell)\, and Spektral Lines. Each showcasing his signature blend of poetic lyricism and emotional insight. His latest album\, I Believe in You\, My Honeydew\, is released in September 2025 and will be supported by an extensive national tour. \nAlongside music\, Ritter has published two acclaimed novels – Bright’s Passage (2011) and The Great Glorious Goddamn of it All (2021). Both praised for their expressive prose and further establishing him as a singular storyteller in American fiction. His work has resonated with audiences\, peers and legends alike – Bob Dylan has performed his work live – and he’s collaborated closely with artists including Bob Weir and Joan Baez. Whether on the page or the stage\, Ritter continues to shape the landscape of American storytelling with uncommon grace and imagination.

SUMMARY:The Arrogant Worms - Performance
DESCRIPTION:The Arrogant Worms have spent over three decades making fun of a big dumb world. Their songs have been played on the radio\, the internet\, and in outer space (on the space shuttle Endeavour). The Worms began at Queen’s University in 1991 when some members of the student cabaret group\, The Queen’s Players\, started writing songs and sketches for the campus radio station CFRC. \nTheir song\, The Last Saskatchewan Pirate\, has been covered by bands such as Captain Tractor and The Longest Johns\, and their Happy Happy Birthday song is a viral sensation with over one hundred million views of the various fan videos on YouTube. More than thirty years after they began\, The Arrogant Worms continue to provide tuneful and silly escapism for everyone who needs it.

SUMMARY:AWOL Performance
DESCRIPTION:Two old men escape from a care home and go to a metal festival \nLoosely based on a nearly true story… \nCyril doesn’t like old people\, which is a shame because he is one. When he learns his estranged granddaughter\, Lily\, has her big break with her thrash metal band\, Abscess\, he and his friend Neville are determined to show up and support her. Neither of them will ever be the same again. AWOL is a buddy adventure caper about two men who decide they’ve had enough of bland food\, dull company and care home radio. \nUK comedian\, poet and former nurse Rob Gee wrote the show after reading a news item from Germany: “It turned out not to be true\, but it inspired me to write a buddy movie-style adventure caper with a positive message about ageing. It’s also a love letter to metalheads!” \nWarnings: adult language\, drug references. Recommended for ages 16+
