SUMMARY:Tower of Song Concert
DESCRIPTION:Tower Of Song: A Creative Tribute To Leonard Cohen\nFeaturing Oliver Swain & Glenna Garramone with special guest Daniel Lapp\nSunday\, July 14 – 7:00PM\nWhen Leonard Cohen sang about the Tower of Song\, he envisioned a place where songwriters connect through their shared craft. Inspired by this idea\, BC singer-songwriters Oliver Swain and Glenna Garramone collaborated to produce a project that is a dialogue through song and a tribute to the legendary songwriter. Reimagining both rare and classic works of Cohen\, the duo have crafted a sound that resonates with both longtime Cohen fans and a younger audience. Tower of Song began as a one-off tribute night at Vancouver’s The Media Club and has since grown into a nationally touring folk duo. They have recorded their debut album “In City and In Forest” and have toured across Canada\, playing at various theatres\, festivals\, and folk clubs.

SUMMARY:Constant Miracles Art Show
DESCRIPTION:Show Hours: 10am- 4pm \nSusan Haigh paints the exuberance of the life force which takes form in nature in millions of miraculous ways.\nAlerted by a splash of colour in a predominantly green world\, her heart stirs when she encounters a new flower. She is always fascinated to learn of the optimistic and intricate ways plants have developed for reproduction and survival.\nOften those plans involve insects\, birds or animals in an interconnected dance to spread the seeds to new territory. \nHer studio holds a treasure trove of paintings large and small\, each a portrait of a different gem of plant life. Her compositions are joyful and well balanced whether in extreme close up or when incorporating the landscape. \nPainting mostly on canvas\, sometimes with acrylics and sometimes with oils\, her work ranges from 8″ x 8″ to 48″ x 36″. When travelling she also works with watercolour pencil and ink on paper.\nHer Constant Miracles show will draw on this wealth of images to create a show joyful in the abundance of nature’s garden.
