Then\, notebooks are passed to the left\, and each person writes the next sentence\, until the story makes its way back to its original author. The most fun game of writerly telephone you’ll ever play! \nJoin us for one or join us for all! These short writing workshops are the perfect jolt of creativity to get those words flowing. Limited to 10 participants\, each workshop will include at least two themed writing exercises and group sharing\, with plenty of positive feedback and encouragement. Distances are short\, scenery is varied\, and\, despite the close proximity\, civilization seems worlds away. Add the chance to see whales\, bald eagles\, seals\, sea lions\, otters\, and you have the makings for a grand wildlife outing all within reasonable distance from your launch site. \nSeveral of the Islands including Sidney Island are accessible in a day. Our general route is travelling North towards Portland Island for a nice Picnic before coming back. SUMMARY:Musical Prompts - Writing Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Program hours: 6:30pm- 8pm \nAges: +16 \nMusical Prompts: Lyrics and instrumental selections will be used to explore what images\, ideas\, and stories arise in the group. Both contemporary and classical pieces will be used. \nJoin us for one or join us for all! These short writing workshops are the perfect jolt of creativity to get those words flowing. Limited to 10 participants\, each workshop will include at least two themed writing exercises and group sharing\, with plenty of positive feedback and encouragement. All levels and experiences welcome! Bring a notebook and pen or equivalent. All other supplies and prompts provided.

DESCRIPTION:Friday\, August 9th – 6pm\nPresented by the Seastar Musical Theatre Class #3 \nAdults $20\nYouth 16 and under $15 \nHorton the Elephant\, the Cat in the Hat and all of your favorite Dr. Seuss characters spring to life onstage in Seussical JR.\, a fantastical musical extravaganza from Tony-winners\, Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty. \nTransporting audiences from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus\, the Cat in the Hat narrates the story of Horton the Elephant\, who discovers a speck of dust containing tiny people called the Whos. Horton must protect the Whos from a world of naysayers and dangers and guard an abandoned egg left in his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird.  Although Horton faces ridicule\, danger and a trial\, the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz never loses faith in him.  Ultimately\, the powers of friendship\, loyalty\, family and community are challenged and emerge triumphant! \nSeussical JR. provides wonderful creative opportunities in set design\, lighting and costuming and can easily accommodate a large cast of expandable “Seussian” creatures. \nPerformance is 1hr long without an intermission.
