DESCRIPTION:Introduction to Sea Kayaking\nThis program offers extensive and flexible skills training for novice and seasoned paddlers looking to build their fundamental skills. The two-day program focuses on the technique of the fundamental strokes and rescues while also building on the necessary theory topics to plan a day trip. The “core” paddling strokes\, wet exits and proven rescue techniques make up day one of this excellent course. On day two\, participants can pack a kayak with the gear necessary for a comfortable day trip and participate in group trip planning\, weather interpretation\, navigation and risk assessment. A full resource pack\, manual\, and joining instructions are available upon registration. \nThis course is loaded with learning and fun. It is a MUST for any new paddler or Kayaker wishing to revisit skills. DESCRIPTION:Gulf Islands Day Paddle\, no experience required.\nLaunching from our paddling center at Port Sidney Marina\, join us on a day paddle & picnic in the Gulf Islands. An ideal paddling location\, the Gulf Islands are one of the most beautiful and accessible archipelagos in the world. Distances are short\, the scenery is varied\, and\, despite the close proximity\, civilization seems worlds away. Add the chance to see whales\, bald eagles\, seals\, sea lions\, and otters\, and you have the makings for a grand wildlife outing\, all within a reasonable distance from your launch site. \nSeveral of the Islands\, including Sidney Island\, are accessible daily. Our general route is travelling North towards Portland Island for a nice Picnic before coming back.
