Access Awareness Day + Expo!

Access Awareness Day brings together 10 speakers and dozens of vendors to bring awareness to the community about accessibility and how to decrease barriers to enable people to live a full life.

For National AccessAbility Week, Beacon Community Services, with the Town of Sidney and SPARC BC, are celebrating with Access Awareness Day at the SHOAL Centre. This one day EXPO will be Saturday, June 1st from 10 am to 2 pm at 10030 Resthaven Drive. We will be hosting influential speakers throughout the day, and over two dozen related vendors. There will be free coffee and cookies and a $12 BBQ lunch.

Speakers include Les Chan (Local fiber Artist and author of “Don’t Stir Fry In The Nude”), Reach Choir (Performing Arts for Social Good), Randy Fred (Gold medal winning blind lawn bowler), Jessica Tuomela (Paralympian Silver Medal Swimmer and Scent Dog Trainer) and many more!
