Join us at the Sidney Museum for a film screening of topics related to our current exhibits Lost Liberties: The War Measures Act and Displacing Differences. On October 22nd we will be looking at the internment of Japanese Canadians and their forcible uprooting from B.C’s coast in two films.
Minoru: Memory of Exile is the story of the filmmaker’s father, Minoru Fukushima, and his experience during internment and his expulsion afterwards to Japan.
Sleeping Tigers: The Asahi Baseball Story is a documentary following the legendary Asahi baseball team who prior to World War II had been unbeatable and the stories of the players during internment.
