SRC Drawing Workshop: Magic Mango Monsters

Learn what it’s like to be a book illustrator with Summer Reading Club artist Meneka Repka! She will share the process she follows from start to finish, including types of illustrations, thumbnailing, and character development.

Meneka will then read her upcoming illustrated book, The Mango Monster (written by Derek Mascarenhas).

Kids will design and create theirmonster craft. We will cut, fold, and decorate monsters that can be scary, goofy, cute, or anything else!

Materials
Each child will need a coloured square piece of paper approximately 13cm x 13cm, along with more coloured paper, scissors, markers, and glue. Something like construction, wrapping, or origami paper in a colour they love would all work well!

This is a free, online program for kids of all ages. Younger children may need assistance from a caregiver with the craft.
