The Foodie’s Day in Sidney

A full day in Sidney means there’s time to really indulge your palate. Still, there’s more here than you could ever discover in just one day, so let’s start with breakfast and go from there.

The Five and Dime is Sidney’s very own retro diner, with breakfast favourites served up with a touch of gourmet flair. They also have delicious milkshakes, and the kind of ambience that puts a grin on your face for the rest of the day. 3rd Street Cafe is also a favourite local breakfast spot. Think in-house sauces and omelettes as well as seating right on the sidewalk where you can watch the town bustle by while you sip fresh coffee.

Save room for another morning treat that Sidney does especially well: DONUTS! The Sidney Bakery is famous for the best apple fritters you have ever tasted, plus mounds of other delectable baked goodies baked fresh every morning. But get there early! They sell out quickly. Because they are just that good.

For lunch, just take your pick. Want a quick sandwich? Head to any one of our cafes, including Quince Cafe and Ice Cream, Beacon Cafe, 10 Acres Cafe and Restaurant, The Red Brick Cafe, or the newest addition, Grays Cafe. You can also head across the highway to The Fickle Fig, where you can treat yourself to a Howl Brewing beer flight while you feast on Italian-inspired sandwiches and goodies.

By dinnertime, you’ll want to experience any one of our restaurants, pubs and cafes that serve up dishes crafted around ingredients from the sea and local farms. There are international flavours too; including Thai, Indian, Greek, Chinese, Mexican and French. True, it’s hard to choose, but you really can’t go wrong. Just pick your theme, like fish and chips, pub-style, ethnic, fine dining, or waterfront; and enjoy.
