Set at the very end of Campion Road, Beachcomber RV Park feels like you’ve found a stretch of coastline that hasn’t been overworked or overdesigned.
This is true waterfront camping. Sites sit right along the ocean, with over 1,300 feet of low-bank, walk-on shoreline, so the water is never something you have to go looking for. Mornings tend to begin with the sound of small waves rolling in, and evenings settle into quiet sunsets with Mount Baker faintly visible across the water.
The experience here leans intentionally simple. You’ve got the essentials, serviced RV sites with water and power, picnic tables, and fire pits, but the focus stays on the setting itself. It’s the kind of place where the day naturally revolves around the beach: walking the shoreline, sitting by a fire, or just watching the tide shift.
There’s a sense of space and privacy that stands out. With around 60 sites spread across nearly 10 acres, it never feels crowded, and many spots are positioned directly on the water. It’s quiet, a little tucked away, and just rugged enough to feel like you’re properly on the coast.
At the same time, you’re still well connected. Sidney, the Swartz Bay ferry terminal, and downtown Victoria are all within about 20 minutes, making it easy to pair a nature-focused stay with everything else the region offers.
What makes Beachcomber memorable isn’t polished amenities, it’s the setting. The sound of the ocean right outside your door, the openness of the shoreline, and the feeling that you’ve stepped into a slower, more grounded version of Vancouver Island.
